Linux: set screen brightness from the command line
For some reason my laptop brightness control will sometimes get reversed when I move from battery power to charging. When I plug in the charger the screen gets dimmer and vice versa. This command will let you set the brightness from the command line (arch linux)
xbacklight -set 100
100 being the brightest
